Cut butter into teaspoon size pieces and place in freezer for 1 to 2 hours. Place all dried ingredients in cuisinart and give a quick pulse to mix.
Add frozen butter to cuisinart and process briefly to coarse corn meal texture. Add milk and give one quick mix to dough.
Dump out on to floured board. Knead 5 to 6 times. Shape to about 7 inch disc that is a little higher in the middle. Cut disc into 8 wedges.
Place on parchment covered cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees until slightly brown.
Can use wedges in strawberry shortcake. Can add fruit (raisins) and use as a biscuit.
